The Collection Exhibition presents works by legendary artists who have left an indelible mark on Korean art history, offering a glimpse into their artistic legacy and enduring influence.
Cheon Kyung-ja was a pioneering artist who redefined Korean color painting (chaesaekhwa) by transcending traditional techniques and incorporating cultural and mythical elements into her works.
Her female figures, often depicted with intense yet vacant gazes, convey a profound duality of emptiness and strength, dreams and longing, solitude and resilience.
With her fantastical and highly distinctive artistic vision, Cheon expanded the boundaries of Korean painting and forged a unique path in contemporary art.
